Margrethe Cup Sv.T Sven Toxvrd Danish Silver H: 7 cm Marked 830 The three Royal Towers of Copenhagen 1950
It is called "Margrethe" cup. The Legend says that Queen Margrethe the 1st (14th century) had made this in a form so the official cup-bearer cup taste from another point than her Royal Highness. The cup-bearer must guard against poison in the queen's cup and was sometimes required to swallow some of the wine before serving it.
In the tradition of Danish Silver Smiths it has almost been an obligation to make Margrethe cups during education so all Silver Smiths make it - but for decoration only.
